Post-traumatic
After trauma — such as whiplash, a fall, surgery or a fracture — compensation patterns in the musculoskeletal system can persist even after the initial injury has healed. Osteopathy helps break these patterns and restore mobility in joints and connective tissue. A study in BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders (Cerritelli et al., 2011) shows that osteopathic treatment after whiplash significantly reduces pain and functional limitations compared to a control group.

After an accident or trauma the body can become 'stuck' in a protective posture. Osteopathy helps to process the effects of that trauma, restore mobility and calm the nervous system — allowing the body to return to balance.
How we help
Scar tissue treatment
After surgery or trauma, scar tissue can pull on surrounding structures. We release the scar so that adjacent muscles and fascia can move freely.
Restoring deep stability
Trauma disrupts the deep stabilisation system of the spine and pelvis. We gradually restore muscular tone and posture step by step.
Reducing neural sensitisation
After a traumatic experience the nervous system can remain hypersensitive. We work through the autonomic nervous system to establish a calmer, recovery-oriented state.
