Back pain

Back pain is the most researched indication for osteopathy. The Cochrane Review (Rubinstein et al., 2012) and European guidelines for low back pain (2018) recognise manual therapy as an effective treatment. Osteopaths look for the root cause of pain — typically a combination of joint restrictions, muscle tension and postural patterns — and treat the body as a whole. Studies show that osteopathic treatment reduces pain, improves function and decreases the risk of recurrence.

Back pain

Back pain is one of the most common complaints for which people consult an osteopath. The causes are varied: muscle tension, poor posture, a herniated disc or the after-effects of an old injury. We look for the underlying cause and treat it specifically, so that you not only get rid of the pain but also prevent it from returning.

How we help

Full spinal assessment

We examine not just the painful area but the entire spine, pelvis and hips to identify the true cause of your back pain.

Gentle manipulation and mobilisation

Through targeted techniques we restore optimal mobility of vertebrae and discs, reduce muscle tension and relieve pressure on nerves.

Preventive advice

After treatment we provide concrete advice on posture, movement and daily habits to prevent recurrence of complaints.
